The Pimple Report

Hello and welcome to PimpleReport.com. This site is an informational site devoted to acne, its causes and its treatments. We hope to be able to educate you in the causes and symptoms of acne so that you may find a successful treatment for yourself. To that end we have supplied an often updated library of articles on the different approaches to acne treatment, and a product comparison which you may find useful in your treatment selection.

Acne has played a part in most of our lives, for the lucky  few it has gone away after a few awkward teenage years. For those who aren't so lucky the battle with acne can develop into a lifelong struggle with self esteem issues and skin treatments. Luckily these days much more is know about acne, its causes and most importantly how it can be treated. In this page we explore the causes of acne, dietary treatments, lifestyle treatments, a few different products that our family members have found to be helpful,
and most importantly simply how to get on with your life without letting acne control you.

One of the many problems facing those of us troubled with acne is that what works for one person may not always work for another. So even though your friend had great success with a treatment such as Proactiv, maybe your skin is too sensitive for it and it could make your acne worse. Therefore in our experience it is always best to go for the most gentle treatments you can find, as there is no real need to use harsh cleaners on your sensitive face. The best treatments work with your skin, not against it.

For myself specifically, the problem was not so much facial acne, as that cleared up sometime in my final year of high school. My real problem with acne was body acne, on the back and shoulders and some buttocks pimples. The pimples I had there just never cleared up, and it wasn't until I did some real research as to the causes of body acne that I found out what the best treatment might be. It wasn't as simple as using the same treatments on my body as I had my face as they simply did not seem to be all that effective there. Moreover not many companies offer treatments specifically aimed at acne on the body, so things weren't looking too good.

My research told me to look for a treatment which took care of the bacteria which is often the cause of back and shoulder acne due to sweat and dirt. Moreover this bacteria getting trapped in follicles can also cause some local inflammation which will also affect the quality of your skin, so something in the treatment will need to be slightly anti-inflammatory. For me the solution was the Clearpores Body System, which is both anti bacterial and also contains salicylic acid which is a great anti-inflammatory. With the included moisturiser designed to keep your pores clear and unclogged it cleared up my shoulder acne quite quickly and so far it has not come back.

However as stated earlier, what completely cured my acne may not be the right solution for you so the best thing to do is read up as much as you can on the causes of acne and find out what might work best for you. Also make sure you understand your skin type as if you have sensitive skin you'll want to avoid the more harsh treatments such as Proactiv which may leave your skin a bit irritated as it did mine. If you have pretty robust skin, then by all means give it a try. The most important thing here is to find what works for you, because noone should have to live with acne. It's bad enough to have it while you go through puberty, we shouldn't have to put up with it in our adult years. Good luck, I hope the information here is useful and that you find the right treatment for you. To that end we have put together a product comparison guide which should help you know what to look for when searching for an effective acne treatment. Also don't forget to check out the free product trials page every now and then, as that is where we list every acne treatment which is offering a free trial of their product. Usually for just the price of postage ($5) you can get up to a months worth of free acne medication. Definately worth a try, so click here to check out the free acne product trial page.
